Holley vs Edelbrock: Which Carburetor Should You Buy?

The short version: the 4150-style Holley is the tuner's carburetor, and the Edelbrock AVS2 is the driver's carburetor.

Holley's advantage is parts. Jets, power valves, metering blocks, and accelerator pump cams are available everywhere, and almost every tuning question has already been answered online.

Edelbrock's advantage is that it usually runs well close to out of the box, with an electric choke and fewer external adjustments to get wrong.

If you enjoy tuning, pick the Holley. If you want to drive the car this weekend, the Edelbrock is a reasonable choice.
